Unheard America was a series of audio portraits for You’re US, made alongside producer Jeff Emtman, scored by a series of composers across the musical spectrum.

The series was wide ranging in stories and collaborations. A children’s Choir singing the life of a Virginia nun, a techno DJ scoring the life of an off-the-grid community in North Carolina, a bay area folk band sing under an Appalachian caretaker, among many others. Musical collaborators included JJ Beck, Phantom Fauna, The Blind Willies, Richard Haig, Gabriel Zucker, the iSing choir and Karen Linford. The works were produced during a residency at Salem Art Works, with feedback from The Kitchen Sisters, Joe Richman, and Lea Thau.

The presentation at UnionDocs, moderated by MC Paul Barman, was one of the first public screenings of the series.
